My latest work was fun and useful!
I know I haven't been blogging much lately! It is hard to want to spend more time on the computer after already spending most of the time on it! :)
However, I wanted to share with you the last few websites I've been working on. They've been fun, local and community oriented as usual!
The first I want to share with you is the new Perth United Soccer Club website. It has been a great experience working on the site with the PUSC folks and they also have a mailing list for communicating with their members.
The design is clean and reminds of the team colors. They are able to update it themselves, after some training and friendly help on my side. The site maintainers post news regularly about registration and also are able to let folks know through the mailing list about any changes that happen in their schedule.
It is always a pleasure working with people involved in our local community of Perth and trying to make it a more vibrant place.
The second website was for Terry Steeves architectural services. This work was a challenge to my creative and artistic inspiration. Terry really liked the style of my own website and this is why he called me up (after having heard from me from Susie from Fieldwork). I was challenged because I was anxious to work for a designer and also because Terry asked me to make something high end and clean with also something like a mandala, kind of like what you see on the banner on my website. So I played with a few things, showed it to Steeves, went back to work and came up with something I am very proud of. I think Terry really likes it too as he even gave me a kiss when he first saw it; saying 'I knew you would do it!'. So here you go, another challenge and a bit of pushing my own limits and here is another beautiful website!
The last site I want to share with you today is the Perth Farmers Market new website. I was approached by Sarah McKenzie to make a new website for our lovely market. I instantly said yes as I believe the Market is probably the most important thing we have in this town. It is a place to buy local food, socialise, meet local farmers and perthites, AND listen to good music! The budget of the market did not allow them to pay me according to what I would usually charge, but whatever, I wanted to help my favorite Saturday hang out place! :) So, I found a cool Drupal template and set the site up. I really like the style of it. Also, it gives yet one more place for the local farmers to be seen on the web and to potentially attract more business. Sarah is also able to update the site herself which is good for the market. That way they can advertise for all the special events that take place at the market.
So here you go, local, artsy, community oriented! What a great combination!
Until next time for more! :)
